      Safety instruction

Before you start work, you must receive safety training. The training is important so that everyone knows the rules and instructions for staying safe at work. During the training, you will learn:

      • What dangers there are at work and how you can protect yourself from them
      • When you have to wear which protective equipment
      • How to use machines and tools correctly
      • What to do in case of accidents or emergencies

You must attend the instruction and then sign that you have understood everything. If there is something you do not understand, please feel free to ask again.

    • Your personal protective equipment (PPE) from the boss

To make sure your body is well protected at work, your boss or foreman will give you personal protective equipment (PPE).

If you need protective equipment at work, you must get it. Your boss must give it to you for free. You don't have to pay for it. Your boss also can't pay you less because of it.

      Protective equipment includes, for example:

      • Safety shoes
      • Gloves
      • Ear defenders
      • Protective goggles
      • Sun cream

You must wear them when your boss or foreman tells you to. If you don't wear the PPE, he can write you a warning or fire you.

You can also find an explanation of when you have to wear which protective clothing here: Explanation of mandatory signs.

    • Toilets and cleanliness at the workplace

There must be toilets near your workplace and accommodation. There must also be running water, soap and disposable hand towels so that you can keep clean.

    • Safe journey to work

You can drive to work yourself or your employer can organise the journey for you. If your employer organises the journey for you, please be punctual at the agreed place.

You are insured by law against accidents while travelling to and from work. This also applies if you travel by your own car or bicycle.

Please note the following when travelling to work:

      • The vehicle must be safe and suitable for people (e.g. a company van, a car or a bus).
      • You must have your own place to sit or stand.
      • When you are standing, hold on tight!
      • If there is a seat belt, you must fasten it.
