Ticks can be dangerous

Pay attention to tick protection at work

Ticks are small animals. They can transmit dangerous diseases such as Lyme disease or inflammation of the brain (early summer meningitis). Ticks are mainly active from March to October.

Tick protection is very important. Be careful. Ticks live in tall grass and bushes.

How you can protect yourself from ticks

  • 1. Use a tick repellent.

  • 2. Wear sturdy, closed clothing.

  • 3. Check your clothes and body for ticks after work

  • 4. Ask another person to help you.

What to do if you have a tick

  • 1. Take a pair of tweezers or a tick card. Use them to remove the tick.

  • 2. Clean the area with a clean cloth.

  • 3. Take a pen and draw a circle around the tick bite. Observe it.

  • 4. If the skin becomes red or thick, go to a doctor immediately.

  • 5. Tell your foreman or boss. He will write it down in the bandage book. This is important in case you fall ill later.
